Firstly, this one is my personal favourite song and in my opinion, the best work of Gulzar in lyrics writing in Indian Film Industry (Bollywood).
The song is from 1985 Hindi/Indian Film 'Ghulami', which is picturized on Mithun Chakraborty and Anita Raaj in the sandy landscape of Thar Desert countryside in Rajasthan, India. The screenplay of the movie was par execellence way back in 1985, considering the standards in Bollywood then. The music is composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and beautifully sung
